Allison is a provisionally licensed mental health therapist, having completed her Master of Science in Counseling from Upper Iowa University.
Allison comes from 15 years of experience working in the non-profit sector and has a Bachelor's Degree in Drama & Theatre for Youth. Allison believes that therapy is a collaborative process where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. Her approach is warm, compassionate, and person-centered, with an emphasis on meeting each client where they are and creating a space where they can feel comfortable being their authentic selves.
Allison works with clients across the lifespan and recognizes that every person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. Allison draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. She approaches the therapeutic process being individualized rather than one-size-fits-all, integrating approaches and techniques based on each client’s needs, developmental level, and personal goals.
Allison is particularly interested in helping clients work through anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and challenges related to self-esteem and self-worth. Allison strives to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills they can use both inside and outside of therapy.

My therapy style is warm, creative, and person-centered. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I see therapy as a partnership guided by your experiences, strengths, and goals. My background in theatre brings creativity and flexibility to our work, making room for self-expression and exploration alongside practical skills for everyday life.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, I tailor my approach to your age, needs, and pace rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
I deeply respect the role that spirituality, faith, and personal belief systems can play in the healing process. I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients are welcome to bring their spiritual perspectives into therapy. I honor each individual’s unique values and am committed to supporting the integration of those beliefs in ways that feel meaningful and supportive to their journey.
I provide traditional ongoing therapy sessions that are typically 50–55 minutes in length, these sessions are scheduled weekly, bi-weekly or as often as scheduling allows and is needed.

I offer limited evening and weekend therapy session, by appointment only.
I value the importance of family dynamics and relationships in the healing process. I welcome clients to explore how family experiences and connections shape their lives and am open to including family members in the therapeutic work when it supports the client’s goals. I strive to create a respectful and collaborative space where all voices are heard and each person’s role within the family system is honored.
My blend of creativity, compassion, and practical support sets me apart. My background in youth theatre and 15 years of nonprofit experience bring a distinctive perspective to my work. I combines creative exploration with a truly person centered approach to help develop insights & everyday coping skills. I work to tailor therapy to each client’s age, strengths, and goals—making room for people to express themselves, feel understood, and discover new ways forward.
I have experience working with many life issues across the life span, life transitions, child/adolescent developmental concerns, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, traumatic events, self esteem / self worth, career development, performance concerns, and behavioral concerns.
I meet you where you are and develop a comprehensive plan that suits your goals. Using known methods, best practices and evidence based therapies, I teach, provide skills, remind you of your resilience & strengths, become curious, consult, counsel and provide therapy for symptoms that interfere with your happiness and day to day life.
Our first session is a chance to begin getting to know each other and to create a foundation of safety and understanding. We’ll start by reviewing the service agreement, informed consent, and other important information about your rights and confidentiality.
After that, we’ll begin a comprehensive assessment to better understand your needs, strengths, and goals. This process helps us clarify what’s been happening in your life and how I can best support you moving forward.
Although the assessment will have some structure, you are welcome to share at your own pace — there’s no rush. The goal of this first meeting is to start building a collaborative partnership focused on your healing and growth.
No. I am not yet trained to offer EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy).
Whether you're starting therapy for the first time or returning to deepen your healing, we're here for you.
