Important Notice Regarding the Security of Email and Digital Communications
MFCC is committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your information. We utilize a secure Google Workspace platform with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to meet HIPAA compliance standards for email communications. In addition, we offer Signal, an end-to-end encrypted messaging platform, for clients and team members seeking an added level of security for sensitive communications.
Despite these safeguards, it is important to understand that no electronic communication method is completely without risk. While our systems are encrypted and regularly monitored, cybersecurity threats such as hacking, phishing, and unauthorized access continue to evolve and increase in sophistication. Once messages leave our secure environment—or are accessed on a personal device, network, or email account not under our control—their security can no longer be guaranteed.
We strongly advise that you Do not send or request sensitive or protected health information (PHI) through standard email.
Be aware that messages you receive from us—once accessed on your device—may be vulnerable depending on your system’s security settings.
By choosing to communicate with MFCC via electronic means (email, messaging, client portal, or Signal), you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved.
MFCC will continue to take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information, but we cannot assume responsibility for unauthorized access occurring outside of our secured systems.
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure their safety.

We receive a correctly completed release of information from you that requests we share information.
To protect you, in most cases we prefer to write a report and give to the client that they can share. This report has pertinent information that you request without sharing all the details.
